That's the short description. Here's the long one:

This is a Collector's Item. It is priced the way it is for 2 reasons:

1. It took a god-awful long time to make

and

2. This is a Collector's Item.

"What makes it a collector's item?"

That's a good question. The answer is rarity. Collectors love items that are rare and hard to find.

"Well, is firebrand style really hard to find?"

Another good question. Unless you live or travel through Northern California you are not likely to find these styles in your local smoke shop. Of course, I'm working on changing that, but for now firebrandglass.etsy.com is the only place you can find these designs.

"That's a rather bold claim, how can you back that up?"

Easy with google! Do a quick search for camo, zebra, snakeskin, stained glass, checkerboard pipes and check the results. How many companies have a consistent production line of these styles?

As a contrasting exercise, next do a search for wig-wag, reverse ball, sand-blasted, carved glass pipes and see how many results are returned.

I have been innovating design technique in the functional glass industry for nearly ten years. I have seen many techniques come and go, I have seen a few direct knock-off attempts of my work, and I've seen a ton of killer glass from all over the world. Still I think my designs are unique. I believe in them and as long as I do, I will continue to create innovative expressions in functional glass that add color and value to your life.

Thanks for reading this, and a special thank you to all who support the efforts of independent American artists.
