I was accosted by a local scout inquiring if I might be interested in making some sort of accessory for a fashion show after they had seen my paper creations at the gallery. I said "sure, why not". After a couple of meetings, the accessory turned into a full fledged dress!

I present to you "Angelique" my masterpiece. It took me four months to create her.

Angelique is a three piece wearable trashion, the bustier is one piece made with a combination of woven magazines and my signature coils. the sides of the bustier are laced with yarn tipped with paper beads and the bustier clips at the nape of the neck with a copper wire hook I made with scrap electric copper wire I stripped, and it laces in front with more hooks I made with same copper wire.

The skirt is the second piece I made with large coils I fashioned into a belt that attaches in back. I then attached wide hole coils to the belt with more colored floss string all tipped with paper beads and connected them all with looped strips of paper to achieve the fishned design. I topped it all with random hand cut flowers I made from Florentine hand painted paper.
the white underskirt is made from white gift tissue paper I cut into circles, squares, diamonds, and strips and made layers of them until the skirt became the fullness I wanted it to be.

Angelique exceeded any expectations I had, she is beautiful and obviously functional as you can see the model wore it with ease and fluidity and it is amazingly sturdy. This event has been so exciting that we decided to create our very own event called ecoFAB Trash Couture and try our best to outdo ourselves.
