Compilers Mary Alice Downie and Barbara Robertson along with the award-winning illustrator Elizabeth Cleaver have succeeded in arranging and presenting a thoughtful collection that allows the poems to speak for themselves. Their judicious sampling of nineteenth and twentieth century Canadian poetry, and Cleaver's splendid linocut and collage art are sure to charm you!
With nothing fussy or pedantic about it this collection skillfully upholds the delicate aerial wisps of wonder that its title, excerpted from an Inuit chant, leads the reader to expect. The book's excellence was recognized by the Canadian Association of Children's Librarians' prize of the Amelia Howard-Gibbon Award for Illustration in 1971.
Book is in great vintage condition. It used to be a library book so it does have a plastic dust jacket cover and has the name of the library stamped on the inside of the cover. The pages are clean and crisp and the spine is tight. No rips or tears or writing on any pages.
