This bracelet is one of a kind. I made it with buddhist symbolism in mind, as well as a love for materials that convey a natural, earthy vibe.

In terms of materials, I've integrated several wooden pieces in various shapes and sizes; the grain is still visible in most of them which adds to the natural feel of this item. Some of them qualify as vintage by Etsy standards too (the painted & carved melon shaped beads, for example). For a pop of color, I've also added some ruby quartz rondelles in a bright red hue. They catch the light very nicely. Sandwiched between these gemstone pieces is a bodhi seed focal, which has some great texture as well as a lot of rich symbolism behind it. You can see a more detailed list of materials below, as well as a brief description in relation to the symbolism behind this item.

Total length is approximately 8 1/4 inches, which can be adjusted if desired. Please convo me with your related inquiries. A sterling silver lobster clasp option is available; convo me if interested in such an upgrade (it will cost a few dollars more).

THE SYMBOLISM BEHIND THIS PIECE:
The bodhi tree is a variety of sacred fig that is native to places like Nepal and Sri Lanka. The term translates loosely to mean "enlightenment", and trees given this name are generally considered to be descendants of the tree that Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) sat under when he achieved Buddhahood. It really is a great, richly symbolic item to carry around with you on a day to day basis!

The word "Amitabha" translates loosely to "eternal light", and amounts to one of the "Pure Lands" that enlightened individuals (buddhas or boddhisattvas) might dwell in. To my knowledge, it is especially important in the context of Hua-yen Buddhist thought (or Mahayana Buddhism). There is also a specific Buddha associated with this term.

The color red also carries quite a lot of symbolism. I would encourage a prospective buyer to google this as well as the term "Amitabha", and the Amitabha Sutra. The inspiration for this item spans from some pretty convoluted topics.
