Maxine Sullivan was one of the best jazz singers in the twentieth century and here, backed up by the superb Scott Hamilton Quintet, she serves up some of the tastiest songs imaginable. From light-hearted ditties like "Goody Goody" to old standards like "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues", there is not a clinker on this record. The Quintet cooks cooly along as if they were born to the task.
