The Kraken Hatchery

Limited Edition Glassware's & Sculpture.
Each Kraken is sculpted individually, onto its glass, then hand painted and glossed.
The Glassware's here are Recycled and/or Found, they are limited and in many instances the only ones.

Each little Kraken is individually sculpted using a very durable material.
((((NOT Polymer Clay)))).
Note: This material is firmly attached to the glassware.
You would have to break the bottle to remove the Kraken,
and having dropped mine a time or two, this has proven to be difficult.
The sculpture actually protected the glassware.

Then the Kraken gets its base coat and is hand-painted
with acrylic paints and gloss finished.
Each one takes up to 2 weeks to complete,
and no two are the same.
Then the Krakens are ready for their photo shoot.
They are cleaned and sanitized, corked, packaged, and ready for shipping.

Kraken Lore:
The Kraken Hatchery

In a time when The Gods still walked the earth, a child was born to Tethys & Poseidon.
This was the Kraken, guardian of the worlds oceans, and terror to all who traveled upon it.

He was once mated to his half sister, the beautiful naiad, Kharybdis,
(daughter of Gæa & Poseidon)
after Zeus`s anger had changed her into a Monster.

Kharybdis, would be forever carrying his offspring within.
She releases her brood at the height of each full moon.
Casting them forth on to all the worlds oceans,
and giving rise to legend and lore among early mariners.

These mysterious hatch lings inhabit the deep oceanic trenches
and perpetually turbulent waters of the world.
Thankfully, they are borne without the ability to breed
and take centuries to mature into smaller versions of their father.

The legends tell us that they are fearsome and appear with little warning
out of the deep, veraciously devouring the most seaworthy vessels with ease.
Occasionally leaving a rare survivor to tell the tale.

Intelligent and swift, the captured brood lings are borne escape artists.
No one know for sure yet what becomes of the bottle corks after these little devils wiggle their way out,
but it has been speculated that they "chew" thew the corks and thereby leave none to be found.

/gasp ,..... could they be teething?
