Item details

Handmade

Materials

rainbow fluorite, sterling silver, bead, toggle clasp

The natural color of these large fluorite rondelles are so diverse! The greens, teals, purples, and even the clear colors are gorgeous. As with most gemstone jewelry (except the very rare and most valuable), different kinds of blemishes and inclusions are evident. This does not change the beauty of the bracelet, include some interesting examples of fluorite’s color zoning. All findings are sterling silver, including the toggle clasp.

The rondelles are about 10 mm

The bracelet is about 7 and 1/2 inches long. Please keep in mind that the beads are large so the wearer should normally wear a bracelet about a half inch or so smaller.

Fluorite is a widely occurring mineral that is prized for its transparent to translucent, glassy luster and rich variety of colors. Some refer to fluorite as “the most colorful mineral of the world”. The most common colors are purple (the most popular, identifiable, and famous color), blue, green, yellow, or colorless; less common are pink, red, white, brown, black, and nearly every shade in between. Color zoning or banding is often present. The color of the fluorite is determined by factors including impurities, exposure to radiation, and the size of the color centers.
