I handspun this organic yarn with love, on my vintage Ashford spinning wheel and gently washed using organic soap.

When I found out that over one third of the world's sheep breeds are in danger of extinction, I wanted to do my part to help protect genetic diversity by supporting farmers that raise traditional breeds of fiber animals.

The yarn has not been dyed, the gorgeous warm gray colour is completely natural. It comes from blending natural white and black wools.

This bulky yarn will knit up quickly on very thick needles.

I have made a comfy warm beanie using Jacob yarn.

Consider this yarn for projects that need to stand up to the weather and knocking about: possibly outerwear, definately rugs, perhaps a bag, or as part of a basketry project.

"The exact geographical and genetic origin of Jacob sheep are uncertain, but they may have come from the Middle East, spent some time in Spain, and finally arrived in Britain in the 16th century. With their multiple horns and attractively coloured fleeces, most Jacobs were kept in English parks as ornament animals" - In Sheep's Clothing - A Handspinner's Guide to Wool
