Uptown Pearls with an Edge! Make a statement with elegant gray pearls and reflect your sophisticated style! Wear downtown with a stylish asymmetrical gray flannel tunic, leggings & boots, or with a simple black sheath for a Night at the Opera!

Rare and difficult to find, these all natural pearls from the Far East have a very thick outer layer, or "nacre," giving the pearls their deep luster. Multiple facets show off their striking pearlescence! Their color is Dark Graphite Gray. Each pearl is individually selected, by hand, to make a full strand of fully-matched color and high quality pearls.

Wear the necklace as a dramatic double strand (first photo), or swing it around to show off the stunning clasp (2nd photo, shown with two necklaces)! The custom designed Silver and Pearl clasp can be used as a centerpiece, asymmetrically, or to catch someone's eye when you turn your back (wearing a fabulous up-do, of course!).

Choose your necklace length in Options:
- Approx. 16" or 18" long.
The clasp is a solid Sterling Silver box, with an inset natural Mabé pearl, hand made in Bali. Sterling Silver beads are placed between each pearl to highlight facets and colors. From Chiang Mai Thailand, the beads are made and hand-faceted by the people of the Thai Hill Tribe in Chaing Mai. A great play with texture with pearl and silver bead facets!

WHY PEARLS?
Pearls have been symbols of status and wealth for thousands of years. Pearl-adorned objects have been found at archaeological sites across the Roman Empire, from Syria to North Africa and northern France. During the Renaissance, the upper classes adorned themselves lavishly with pearls, a symbol of wealth, status and taste in an age of splendor. Rulers and the wealthy elite in India and the Middle East used large numbers of pearls to enhance costumes and furnishings. In Islamic thought, pearls represent perfection and completeness. For Hindus, the pearl is one of the planetary gems, associated with the moon and second only to the diamond in esteem. --American Museum of Natural History
