Description

This stylish young lady is all dressed up dressed for an evening out on the town at the local Speak Easy.

'Flapper Girl Wearing Phoenix Hosiery' is an original trade publication promotional illustration created by The Magill-Weinsheimer Company of Chicago in 1927. Reproduced from a pen drawing. Benday stipple effect in the background laid on line negative, Courtesy of the Glen Beck Company. Original line etching on copper.

In the 1920s, before color photography was invented, a career in the advertising sector of the color printing trade was a serious REALLY Big Deal, Advertisement designers and illustrators were some of the most sought after and richly rewarded occupations of the time.

She's in wonderful smooth condition with sound edges, sharp corners, and almost no tanning to speak of at all; pretty amazing considering this gorgeous print is 90years old. I just love her shiny patent leather shoes! We should all look this stunning at 90.

This stunning double sided antique print measures 9" x 12" overall and she's printed on heavy quality paper stock and features another illustration the same period on the reverse; a very cool ad from the Fuller Brush Company.

Matted and framed and displayed as a gallery grouping, these lovely old trade prints are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last photo are to show how this might look when it's framed. Your pretty advertising print will come to you unmatted and unframed.)

Surrender Dorothy offers an outstanding selection of thousands of fascinating, affordable and ever so very frame-worthy vintage and antique prints, maps, posters, sketches, engravings, diagrams, ads, plans, charts and illustrations of all kinds to adorn every room in your happy home. Terrific finds for your workplace too.

Our entire inventory moves in and out of here very quickly and fresh selections are added each day. Please be sure to bookmark our shop and check back to visit often so you don't miss any of our latest discoveries.

I'll send this pretty old jewel to you First Class Mail by way of those nice folks at the USPS in a rigid mailer.

Cashier's Checks and Money Orders are okay too but only if they are received within four days of your order, otherwise we'll cancel the order and put the item back up for sale.

We BEG you guys, Please... If your Etsy Address and PayPal Addresses are different, please please let us know where you would like us to send your package. We have a real talent for choosing the wrong one.

Returns & exchanges

Returns
We are happy to accept returns in good condition in the original packaging shipped within 48 hours as exchanges only and you agree to pay postage both ways.

Damages In The US Mail.
They happen sometimes.
Although we carefully wrap our vintage breakables in tons of bubblewrap and tons of padding and pack them in sturdy shipping boxes, damages still sometimes happen. *sigh*
Please tell us about damaged goods ASAP. Photograph the damages and send photos to us so that we can work it out with USPS.

Shipping policies

We ship by way of the United States Postal Service only.
Yes, FedEx and UPS are a little bit cheaper, but we find them to be very brutal with our delicates and breakables, so we refuse to play with them.

International Orders
The answer is YES we do ship internationally. Please just ask! There are many shipping destinations on this planet and each one is a slightly different price.

Additional policies

While it is considered customary for many antique and vintage shops to consider offers and dicker prices, our shop simply doesn't.
We've priced our merchandise as fairly as humanly possible. Please don't ask us to haggle.
Thank you.
