decaying leather bound Longfellow poetry book. The Poetical Works of H. W. Longfellow published by James Askew and Son of Preston.

Bound in soft dark maroon leather with thin hard covers the book displays significant signs of use with a failed front hinge and a cracked back hinge. The spine cover is split.

The book is roughly 5 x 7.5 inches or 120 x 190 mm with a gilt edge to the pages.

Not dated but the prize label at the front is dated 1903 (and 1948).

The publishers address was Coporation Street, Preston, which is in Lancashire, England.
