Beautifully detailed and coloured vintage offset lithograph of the Greater Scaup.

The Greater Scaup, Scaup or Bluebill (Aythya marila) is a mid-sized diving duck. It spends the summer months breeding in Alaska, northern Canada, Siberia, and the northernmost reaches of Europe. During the winter, it migrates south to the coasts of North America, Europe, and Japan. This species nests near water, typically on islands in northern lakes or on floating mats of vegetation. Females lay a clutch of six to nine olive-buff colored eggs. This scaup eats aquatic mollusks, plants, and insects, which they obtain by diving underwater. The greater scaup was first studied by Linnaeus in 1761.

The size of the print: 9,5" x 6,6" (24,1 x 16,6 cm)
Printed in 1953, Hamburg Germany, for "Mitteleuropaische Vogelwelt" by Claus Caspari.

The print is in good condition, the paper shows its age with creamy patina, perfect for framing. Please note, that by vintage prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
