Sizing details and costs

Please just message me with the specific dimensions that you would like. I am very flexible and reasonable with pricing. Note about the full pantry spice racks - As of Dec 2020... I MIGHT be able to make them larger but buyer would pay more. Send me you sketch :) Why does it COST so much?! Consider my time driving to & the cost of buying materials, my time making it (cutting the wood assembling it, sanding it, cutting the back pieces or backboard, drilling any holes needed, resanding, staining (using gloves and staining pads with prices that have literally doubled since the pandemic), purchasing a box and packaging it, paying for shipping (which - depending on where you live - can range from $18-$65 OH and Etsy keeps some of the $ LOL

Custom and personalized orders

Please message me your sketches or ideas. I would be happy to take a look and let you know how much it would cost to make it for you. I' m always down for a challenge however, depending on my workload, I may or may not be willing to experiment with new projects!

What if my item arrives damaged / the box looks damaged/ I don't like my item.

Rest assured that I will work with you. Please take multiple pictures of the shipping box from multiple angles. If there is visible damage, also take multiple pictures from multiple angles of the item. I will need these to try to file a claim. You can text them to me directly. In the last 3 years this has happened about 6 times. I'm not a math person but I think that's a less than 1% chance of it happening to you :) Remember, I'm human too. Whatever the issue, I will be infinitely more willing to work with you if you're not hostile and aggressive towards me. If you come at me combative then I'm likely to tell you to just file a claim with Etsy. *NOTE: This has NEVER happened but just sayin :) *

Do I stain the back face of the items?

Nope! I'm a one man operation. I don't see the purpose of staining the backside of racks if they will be hung on a wall. Your wall won't know or care :) This would be a waste of stain. I typically just give the backside a "once over" as I'm staining but it's definitely not stained. I've had sneaky people send me pictures of the backside to try to get refunds by claiming that I didn't stain their rack -_-. (you can send it back but YOU are responsible for return shipping!) IF for whatever reason you want the back side stained please CONTACT ME! :)

What's your lead time / how soon will I get my item?

I shoot for making and shipping in under 10 days. My worst case scenario was 14 days because I was backed up with paperwork at the high school. I would say that I average 7 days for the bigger items.

I got my order so fast, did you rush it?!

Nope! I spend roughly the same amount of time on each of my items. If you got your order extra fast there is a good chance your order came through on my phone as I was already working in my workshop. I may have allotted myself more time that particular day to go ahead and make your order :)

I got an email that my order shipped but there's no details available.

Unlike Amazon, Etsy only lets me print labels a couple days in advance of the ship date. It's very possible that your order came in while I was on my computer went ahead and printed the receipt and shipping labels but then I couldn't actually work on your order for a couple days. I typically tell people to ignore the automatic emails that Etsy sends about shipping.

Can I get a sneak peak / preview of my item before you ship it?

No, it's a surprise! Just kidding. YES! Of course! Please reach out ASAP after you order via text message or Etsy messages letting me know. This is actually a win-win because if you don't like the way the something turned out we can deal with it then and there. I don't typically initiate contact because...reasons. :)

What's up with this shipping box?

I'm a one-man-shop that does this hustle on the side. I get boxes from HD and make them into what I need...Also, I recycle...so I may send your item in a box that was used to deliver something to me - especially from Amazon :)

How are your items made?

ALL my work has a "RUSTIC" nature to it. This means that because I make them myself - NOT A MACHINE -there will be minor imperfections - that is kinda the whole point of them being "rustic". Despite my best efforts, there may be some brush strokes present or stain blemishes/blotches. I have no control over the wood that is available to purchase. It may be naturally darker/lighter, more/less voids/holes/knots, grain patterns etc. I cannot control these things. Some wood sands better than others - (less fuzzy wood grain etc), some accepts stain better-(darker/lighter shades). I do my best to keep things as uniform as possible BUT please understand that no two racks will be exactly the same.

How do I mount my items? / I don't like my item.

Instructions and screws are included! If you need more guidance definitively reach out to me. I try to respond promptly. I stand by my products. I make and ship them as described in each of the descriptions. The buyer will be responsible for return shipping. The only time I reimburse shipping is if the item has arrived damaged in which case you will need to send me multiple pics of the box and item. As stated above this is RARE. If you are a picky person please avoid this by #1 don't buy from me or #2 if you DO buy, ask me to send you pics before I ship out. I'm a very reasonable guy! :)

🎨 Finish & Style:
Each rack is hand-stained (not painted) for a rustic, handmade look. Expect natural wood character—minor brush marks, knots, color variations, and grain differences make each one unique.

**Antique White is popular but note it’s an off-white / eggshell / light beige, not a bright white.**

The back side isn’t stained and may show blotches on the plywood backing—this is normal and hidden once mounted. It doesn’t affect strength or durability. If you’d like it stained, just let me know.

📦 Production Time:
Typical turnaround used to be much faster before our baby arrived 👶. Now it’s about 4–8 weeks. As of July 2025, I’m the acting assistant principal at an elementary school and a new dad (our baby was born in April 2024), so woodworking happens in the evenings.

❤️ Handmade with care:
I make each rack myself—not by machine—so no two are exactly alike. That’s part of their charm!
