This is a Laguna Agate sterling silver ring. Laguna Agate is considered to be the most colorful banded agate in the world. It is found in a north-south trending mountain range almost due south of El Paso, Texas and east of Mexican Highway 45 in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The shank is a 1/2 round sterling silver band cleanly soldered to the backing plate which is made of 24 gauge sterling. The bezel is flat sterling wire with a flange around the cabochon to add sparkle. This ring size is a number 8-1/2. The stone shows off the pattern of the natural orange lace polished cabochon.
