A simple, thoughtful, durable plywood step-stool for the bathroom, kitchen, or anywhere else that takes your little one's fancy.

All of our products are made from certified non-toxic premium 11-ply Baltic Birch plywood with 0-emissions glue (11-ply is much stronger than lower counts, if you're considering other plywood products, count the number of ply in the product pictures and ask for emissions information).

Material: 100% premium certified non-toxic E0 11-ply Baltic Birch
Baltic Birch is a premium plywood, made exclusively using sheets of thin birch wood compressed together, resulting in a consistent, stable and highly durable wood. The greater the number of plies for a given thickness, the stronger the wood. All of our plywood also have SGS certification for compliance with California NCARB VOC schedule, and are graded E0, with virtually 0 emissions from the glue used.

NOTE: We are a Chinese-American family and split our time between Seattle and Shanghai. We run a design studio and small scale workshop in Shanghai, where we oversee all aspects of the manufacturing of our children's furniture. Due to the new tariffs introduced, it has become quite expensive for small businesses to keep inventory in the US so we ship directly to customers from our Shanghai workshop.

Bill is an architect and interior designer, Miranda has worked in fashion and retail for almost a decade, and when baby Celine came along a couple of years ago, we had the simple desire to create some children's furniture we would like for our own home. We purchased the table with two chairs, as well as the step stool. We are very happy! Beautiful and sturdy design, easy to follow instructions and quick delivery! Some concerns around stain proofing, but our child is very young and this may not be an issue if you have older children. Further detail below: • Sleek design - looks just like the images. We have had a few people over during the holidays and so many of them commented on the little table and chairs • Sturdy make - it’s surprisingly robust even for an adult • Easy to follow instructions (a la IKEA) • Timely delivery - came in time for Christmas, woo hoo! • The mallet left black marks which came off with a magic eraser • The wood is not stain proof (and my child doesn't always colour on the page!) I wouldn’t recommend the magic eraser, a it makes the surface rough.
