Flemish style still life with pink iris, seashell and cricket in a wall recess.
This large pink iris placed in a wall niche stands out from the dark background with realism, this illusion is achieved by the trompe l'oeil technique. The bumblebee in the upper right corner reinforces the illusion of reality: it seems to have landed on the painting itself!
• Technique: gesso coated wood board, monochrome egg tempera underpaintings
and multiple layers of thin colored oil glazings ( flemish technique ). The sides are
gilded with copper leaf ( patinated aspect ).

As an artist myself, I immediately saw the quality in these miniatures. I was delighted to receive the parcel. Every possible detail and then some was observed in the packaging. Clearly, this artist is schooled in precision and quality every step of the way. I have placed my little painting among other valuables in a beloved curio cabinet.
