RESERVED FOR MARIE: This unusual pendant was created by utilizing a modernized Pate de Verre technique. Pate de verre (translated from French to "paste of glass" ) is an ancient glassworking technique that produces solid glass objects with a rich translucent or porcelain and alabaster-like quality. It was utilized by the ancient Egyptians to make glass amulets, scarabs and gems. I have rendered this piece from an original mold I made of an ancient Azted Stamp design and then cast it, and fired the glass at about 1250 degrees F. The bail is fine silver which was fired into the pendant. I enhanced the base pale turquoise colored glass with enamel during firing, then added a touch of patina, and subtle1/2" (including bail) The jump ring is 9 x 7 mm (inside diameter) and will fit onto a 4mm chain or cable.

Photo number three is a sample to show a visual of how great the pendants look on beaded chains. Chain is not included, however if you would like a piece with a chain, please convo us to discuss options.

This pendant will look wonderful on a chain or rubber cord. It will also look fantastic incorporated onto a beaded chain, or utilized in an altered art project.
