The bottom swirling peach and pink Angel Skin coral gems are hand carved with a curving fluted motif whilst the top salmon pink orbs are highly polished and smooth. Within the center of the long pair rest rare set indeed: a good-sized golden-mauve set of Kasumi look-a-like pearls. For those of you unfamiliar with Kasumi pearls they are very, very recherché and come from one place in the world only: the freshwater Lake Kasumi-ga-Ura in Japan. Kasumi pearls are prized for the wild texture of their skins (nacres) and deep, lustrous sheen. The pearls I present to you here are also freshwater and nucleated as well - just as Kasumi pearls - but are Chinese in origin and are available at about one fifth of the price. These are not cheap "druzy" pearls found frequently on the market but are exceptional grade (sold by the carat) freshwater pearls. A special, rare find indeed!
I have married the elements together with my signature mixed metals look: a trio of 18k solid yellow gold hand-wrapped bails, bright sterling silver, and just a dot of blackened sterling. Solid 14k yellow gold French earwires finish off Lophelia pertusa. Two and a quarter inches (2.25") in length. For information on how your package will arrive, please see my Shop Policies page.

Specifics:
Old stock (vintage) salmon pink coral smooth beads: 6mm
Fluted (hand carved) antique coral beads: approx. 11 x 12 mm
Chinese "Kasumi look-a-like" freshwater pearls: approx. 9.5 x 10 mm
total length: 2.25" in length

☛ Did you know that pearls are the traditional gift for the 30th Wedding Anniversary (and modern gift for the 12th)? It is also the birthstone for June.

☛ The Angel Skin (fluted) coral beads employed are pre-ban Japanese Sea coral beads; meaning that it is of vintage origin and is of old harvest (legally harvested and cut over 38 years ago). The orange coral employed within the piece is also of old, pre-ban harvest (38+ years ago) and is known as "old stock", however it was not cut until about a year ago. Both of these types of coral cannot be harvested today and are protected. I am passionate about the responsible use of coral in jewelry and art. ☛ No detail overlooked. No addition too small. Everything has a place and everything in its place. Original and hand-built in my Gulf Coast studio.
