WHY PYROPE GARNETS ... WHY ROSE GOLD?
The January birthstone, Garnets are a warm deep red color, hence the name (from the Latin word granatium, or “pomegranate”). Garnets have been used by explorers for generations to protect travelers far from home, including a large Garnet used by Noah to illuminate the night to steer the ark to safety. Garnets enhance energy, passion, pleasure, and commitment, and bring joy and hope to the wearer. Garnets help with depression and can help clean chakras of negative energy, and heal the thyroid and spleen.

The best known garnets, Pyrope garnets are named from the Greek word puropus: “pur" (fire) and "ops" (eye) meaning "fiery-eyed,” for their distinctive red color. The characteristic dark-red of Pyrope garnet is found in small sized stones; bigger gems tend to be very dark, close to black.

Rose Gold was introduced in Russia in the 19th century, known as "Russian Gold." The pink-hued precious metal was prominent during the highly romantic Victorian and Georgian eras. In the 1920s, Rose Gold was popularized with Cartier's famed "Trinity" ring, made with yellow, white, and rose gold. -- GIA, AGTA, Minerals.net, and various other sources
