In 1968 McCalls hired designers to take its patterns up market and Pauline Trigere was one of the biggest names to come from that era. One of the New York designer's tailored designs from 1968 is this four section lined dress with dolman sleeves. The dress has center back zipper, high rising back neck and bias front neckband. Bias welt pockets highlight the fitted straight skirt. Dress may be worn with self fabric tie belt. Cut short it makes a great tunic.

Pauline Trigere was a French-born American designer who opened her own American fashion house in 1945 and designed for such notables as the Duchess of Windsor, and Lena Horne. She later also designed jewelery, The influence of her father's tailoring skills are always evident in her designs. Today her vintage dresses, jewelery, and sewing patterns are greatly sought after.

Frequently asked questions about VogueVixens

Sizes have changed over the decades, and may vary between pattern brands. Measure your bust/chest, waist, and hips with a measuring tape, compare these measurements to the charts given on our listings.
As well there is usually a photo of the back of the pattern envelope, that often includes a sizing chart.
Looking at VINTAGE patterns, mid 1960's or earlier?
We suggest when buying a vintage pattern, to choose the correct bust size, and make any necessary alterations to the pattern in the waist and hips. An experienced sewer may be capable of making adjustments in the bust as well.
Some patterns give a level of difficulty/sewing ability recommended to use the pattern...from Very Easy, Easy, Average to Advanced.

The buyer should use their own judgement before purchase to decide if their skills match the rating. Be sure to look at the photo of the backs of the envelopes for more information on the construction of the garment.
All our patterns instructions are in English, sometimes there are also instructions in an additional language.

Even though some envelopes have French or Spanish or German, that is NOT always an indicator that the instructions inside are multi-lingual.

In the text part of the listing, under Condition, is where we will note if the instructions are available or included in an additional language besides the standard English.
Please contact us before purchase if you are unsure if the pattern instructions are in your preferred language, and we will check for you.
NO. Since we are in Canada, we are not registered for VAT, and so this tax is NOT included in our prices. If any of our listings or shipping rates state "VAT included (where applicable)", this is because Etsy's programmers have recently added this to the current webshop platform. Unfortunately this is misleading and incorrect, but we are unable to remove it from our listings.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions on this issue. Vogue Vixens has been open since 2010, with over 500 orders going to buyers in the European Union, and we have received very positive reviews from our European customers.
