This set of fire tools include a poker, shovel and a wall hanging support.

The tools are made out of 1/2" square stock with a decorative twist in the middle.

The handles are formed with hanging loops at the end and are held to the tools by wraped collars.

On the poker end, another piece is forged and added, again held by forged collars. Making it a more useful and decorative design.

The shovel end has been riveted to place with rivets using the hand hammer to "fix" the rivets in place.(The different colors on the shovel end are from the heat when setting the rivets)

For the wall support, I made two large rivets to be used as hooks to hang the poker and shovel on, hammered the corners off a piece of 3/8" thick flat bar and welded the rivets from the back of the bar to keep everything clean,

The wall support was then signed with my logo punch "in" the metal at an orange heat.

A lot of hammer work went into this set of fire tools and it shows just by looking at it.
This is the same design I use in my home, it receives a lot of attention and good comments.

After all the forging, I cleaned everything up, re-heated to a low heat and applied a traditional blacksmith treatment against rust for inside ironwork wich contains boiled linseed oil and beeswax. When applied hot, the oil and beeswax make their way to all those hard to reach and detailed places.

Total lenght of the poker is 38".
Total lenght of the shovel is 35".
The wall support is 10 1/2" wide.
