Early 20th century ink pad, possibly from the 1920s, with an ornate lid featuring wonderful early typography: "The Century - Self Inking Stamp Pad - Always Ready for Use". On the bottom right the number 2. Patent 8743. The ink has dried up but it used to be violet as it says in the centre front of the tin (see photo).

Signs of rust and wear as expected from usage and age but this is a great collectible item for the ink enthusiast. It comes with an office stamp of unknown age. The stamp has a wooden bulbous handle on whose top is written "Checked A". This has been inscribed on the printing pad but is barely discernible due to heavy usage.

The ink pad measures 11.5cm x 7.3cm x 1.5cm
