Majolica Fan and Dragonfly Ice Cream Dish

Antique Majolica," Fan and Dragonfly", fan shape ice Cream dish, late 1880s, unsigned. It may be from Eureka Pottery Co. of Trenton N.J. that was in business from 1883 until a fire in 1887.

The pattern is an interpretation of oriental designs and includes a pebbled background with a dragonfly and cherry blossoms. It measures appx. 6" X 6". The condition is excellent. We have not found any chips or cracks except for one small spot on the bottom of the fan handle edge. It may also be a lack of glaze that occured in the making. Some minor wear or damage is generally acceptable in antique majolica because of its age and soft clay body.

Please contact us with questions. This is a gorgeous little ice cream dish and you could have a lot of fun collecting the matching tray and additional ice cream dishes. This treasure will arrive properly packed and insured.

Reasonable offers considered.
