A double level storage box for pearls from days gone by. Labelled on the interior as La Tausca Pearls in gilt lettering.
There is a removable tray that is padded and lined top and bottom with the creamiest white silk and silk grosgrain ribbon that is in near perfect condition.
The lower level is divided into two sections, also padded and lined in the same silk.
The underside of the lid is the same fabulous silk.
This box is the softest shade of sage green velvet (what's left of it) I have ever seen.
Whomever it was that originally owned this took remarkable care with it. She was also left handed! As the left hand side of the top has very little velvet left to it. The rest of the box is soft as a bunnies ear.
It has ALL of it's lining intact and no damage to be seen at all to it. The lining in these boxes are usually shattered or gone completely. Not this one!
This is a true treasure box!

A little history:
La Tausca was a high end faux pearl manufacturer that used all the same techniques as real pearls for manufacturing. They sold the highest quaility imitation pearls found, according to their advertisements.
They used the velvet presentation boxes for the best of their product. They merged with Deltah Pearls, another high end imitation pearl manufacturer, in 1956.

If you are looking for perfect, then perhaps vintage is not really for you. Vintage means previously loved and used. This means it may or may not have minor flaws. I try to list these if I find them. Sometimes I may miss something. Hopefully not often. Please, unless the description says perfect, assume it is not.
