I love the look of fresh roses or a small votive candle in a silver mint julep cup. It adds an elegant, vintage touch to any home, and is also one of the most popular items used in weddings and at the reception table.

Mint Julep Cups have traditionally been associated with the Kentucky Derby since 1938. Originating in the southern United States, the mint julep is a drink traditionally made with four ingredients: mint, bourbon, sugar, and water. The first appearance of a mint julep in print came in a book by John Davis published in London in 1803, where it was described as "a dram of spirituous liquor that has mint steeped in it, taken by Virginians of a morning." Traditionally, mint juleps were often served in silver or pewter cups, and held only by the bottom and top edges of the cup. This allows frost to form on the outside of the cup.

These vintage style silver plated mint julep cups can be engraved for a personal touch. They are the perfect container to hold your own dried or silk flower arrangements, or fill with a lovely scented wax to create your very own candle, which also makes a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

The Large cup in this listing measures 4" tall. For decorative purposes only. Made in India.
