This is a vintage double gusset government briefcase in a very dark brown leather. It has three separate compartments inside. There is also a pocketed area with a snap button closure that is just right for a pocket calculator, pens, pencils, etc . The front gusset straps work fine but the ends are curling from age. The leather is extremely thick and soft. Heavily reinforced handle. Dimensions: 18 inches wide by 12 inches tall by 4.5 inch accordion-style expandable depth. Unfortunately, part of the latch is missing.

After doing some research, I believe this bag was used by government lawyers and or couriers but there are no markings anywhere. This is most likely from the 40's or 50's. Unsure as to where it was made. This is a remarkably heavy bag.

Very good vintage condition for an item of this age. It has numerous scuffs and scratches and shows some wear on the edges and corners. However, the stitching is still tight and sound.

This attache case was well used and loved! If only this bag could talk!
