As decorative jewelry findings, this pair of Textural Carved Bone Boho Leaves would make superb subordinate pieces in a pendant, or bracelet.

You could use them more simply to create a pair of earrings.

They could just as easily be used in paper arts to make a striking embellishment amid charms and ribbons along the spine of a keepsake mini album or art journal.

Carved both sides, they were crafted for Indounik in Bali where an abundance of lush tropical vegetation provides plenty of inspiration for the island's many talented artists and artisans.

BACK STORY
Indonesia has the second largest biodiversity in the world, after the Amazon rainforests. Sadly, deforestation is a major problem in this developing nation.

Ironically, global demand for palm oil is fuelling this deforestation. Indonesia is the world's leading supplier of palm oil which is used for biofuels, cooking and cosmetics.

For all of that, Indonesia also has a rich history of plant study and conservation through its network of botanic gardens – the Kebun Raya Indonesia. There are three gardens in Java and one in Bali that make up the KRI.

Of them, the Bogor Botanical Garden, 60km south of the capital, Jakarta, is Indonesia's first and foremost botanic garden, having been founded in 1817.

If you are going to Bali on holidays and would like a different experience, Tri Hita Karana Bali Foundation often has permaculture courses. You can learn more here - http://thkbali.wordpress.com/

In Bahasa Indonesia, the word for leaf is daun. Kebun means garden.
