Canadian's nicknamed this one dollar coin 'loonie' for the common loon bird depicted. The nickname became so popular that the Royal Canadian Mint secured rights to the name "Loonie".

This vintage coin (1990) has a beautiful warm patina and light wear marks that come naturally with age and travel. It is made of bronze plated nickel, and slightly larger in size than a US quarter.

The bead is antiqued copper. The charm (a rummage find) is enameled brass(?) representing the Flag of the Province of Quebec.

The chain is antiqued brass and 18" in length.

~~> Feel free to ask any questions ~ even the "silly" ones!

Every *Treasure* is Gift-Ready ~~ including a printed copy of the description (no cost reflected), a polishing cloth (to use if desired) all wrapped up in colorful tissue paper.
