This tunebook features a fine array of medieval melodies, all set out in modern notation, with the aim of providing a good starting point for anyone wanting to get into medieval music. The twenty tunes have been edited from the original sources by Paul Leigh and Gill Page of medieval ensemble Trouvere, who are the directors of the Medieval Music in the Dales festival - held in North Yorkshire at Bolton Castle every September.

Each piece is presented twice at two different pitches - usually in D and in G, with a couple in C and G. This allows for performance on a wide variety of period and modern instruments.
