This quintessential Little Black Dress of the 1950s was designed by Oleg Cassini before his days with Jacqueline Kennedy. Asymmetrical nude illusion neckline closes at left shoulder with four snaps. Pleats fall from the shoulder while a dart on the right side offers shape to the bustline. Wiggle skirt features a curved overlay in front with pleats at the waist that becomes the back of the garment with darts for shape. Dramatic cascade of silk chiffon offers balance to the neckline of this silk crepe dress. Lined in silk. Left side metal zipper.

Labeled: Oleg Cassini (in grey on a black label with a crest in the background)

This dress was featured in an exhibit at the Art Institute of Portland curated by my former intern Anna Fabian from both my personal and professional collections. See the Centennial of Fashion 1860-1960 here.

Measurements
I do not pin clothing on models, but prefer instead to show you my garments on people they actually fit. Meaghan's measurements at the time of this shoot were 33-25-38 and she stands 5'8" tall. This dress was a little roomy on her.
-Bust: 36"
-Waist: 26"
-Hip: 38" MAXIMUM
-Length shoulder to waist: 16"
-Length waist to hem: 35" + 2" hem

Condition
Very Good condition rating an 8 out of 10. Minimal flaws include:
-The only real flaws are a hole less than an inch in diameter in one chiffon panel and several pin holes in another. None are noticeable while wearing.
-The zipper is a little sticky, but still fully functioning, so I refrained from replacing it.
-There are some chalky spots visible in both the front and back photos that I did not notice at the shoot. I took this dress to my dry cleaner and had her blow the spots out and they are now gone.
