There has been no painter before or since that has ever come close to capturing the play of light and shadow like American artist; Maxfield Parrish.
Frederick Parrish was born in 1870 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later took the family name, Maxfield as a middle name. He was an illustrator and commercial artist and worked for many publications, calendar and advertisements. Noted for his rich colors and particularly for the shade of blue...now known as Parrish Blue. He died in 1966.

'Cadmus Sewing The Dragon's Teeth' is an original tipped-in lithograph plate from 1910, printed on heavy eggshell finished paper and is blank on the reverse.
He's in beautiful smooth condition and measures 9.25" x 6" overall. The image itself is 5" x 6." Just perfect for framing.

Matted and framed and displayed as a grouping, these gorgeous old children's art prints are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last photo are just to show how this might look when it's framed. This print will come unframed..)

I'll send Cadmus to you by way of the USPS packaged flat and protected in a rigid mailer.
