WOW! This is a beauty of a 1950s 'Junior House-Milwaukee" label dress! Made of a unique fabric (cotton rayon blend?)--with a salmon pink "dashes and dots" pattern woven 'embroidery style' against a white/off white background. Mandarin style collar and the most unique 'parabola' shaped flaps decorating both the bodice and the skirt (together they form a large 'figure 8'). AMAZING vertical row of mother of pearl discs sewn allllll the way down the centre front of the dress (they start small in size, then get bigger in dimension to waist...below waist they again start small and get bigger towards bottom hem). Cuffed short kimono sleeves. Side metal talon zipper at side waist and another small Talon metal zipper at back neck. Full gathered skirt with hidden skirt hip pockets. All in all, just a stunner of a frock...please read condition notes carefully before purchase, though!

Approximate Measurements of garment (in inches):
Bust: to 37 (from armpit to armpit due to kimono shaping) BUT measured lower down across centres of bust darts, I get more like 35" (garment shown fitting on a mannequin with a 35.5" bust)
Waist: 26
Hips: full
Length: 40 1/4 (with huge hem allowance that is about 6 3/4" in size); shoulder to waist is just under 16.5 or so.

Condition Notes: On the whole, this dress is in lovely and very wearable condition. Aside from a very small snag spot on back bodice and a teeny pinhole (fourth image), I couldn't note any structural issues at all. I should point out, though, that someone rather clumsily hemmed the dress up so that it now has a huge 6 /34 inch hem allowance. Could be taken down by new owner, or left as is if you are more petite.

Aesthetically, the dress is also doing really well. I soaked the garment in oxyclean, handwashed it, and line dried it to remove some storage and wear-related discoloration I noticed on it when I got it. As such, the dress is fresh and clean and ready to wear. However, on close inspection, I do still notice some slight residual yellowing at underarm areas (see last photo). Quite subtle and would be impossible to notice when dress is worn, due to their location (they get lost in the cuffs of the sleeves and the kimono shaping). The front right flap of the "parabola" on the skirt also seems somehow the slightest smidge less pristine. Might be my eyes. Not sure. All in all, this dress is truly a beauty with lots of life left. Still, item is sold AS IS and is a final sale, so please ask all questions and request any extra photos before purchase. Price reflects the beauty, wearability and scarcity of the garment, as well as above noted points. Really, the buttons alone are worth a lot! :)
