1898 Antique Weathered Map of Eastern and Western Hemisphere

This year, both my kids studied American history. We were all transported to the early 1400-1500's and learned about the rich history of St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States, 45 minutes south of where we live here in Florida.
We learned about the colonies and the power struggles, the hardships of the
colonists, the beginnings of slavery. We looked at maps and drew lines across oceans to show the different voyages foreigners have taken to discover the "new" world.

We have come to appreciate the function and beauty of maps, antique, vintage and new, with the wealth of knowledge and history they impart.

This page is rescued from a falling apart book published in 1898, its pages remarkably intact albeit quite weathered and shabby. Age spots, creases, markings, water spots are quite visible in this page, an old world look that only the passage of more than 100 years and countless students of history can produce.
No need to distress or age this map, Father Time has taken care of that!
Two attached pages, approximately 14.75 " x 8.75." Back of map page is text or picture.

Perfect for framing. Highly suitable for a history lesson.
I will used new and recycled cardboard backing to ensure the safe arrival of your page.

The picture you see is my digital photo of the real book page taken in natural light. Not a copy or a scan. You will be receiving the original page.
