This piece is superlative....summer quilt means there is no batting, simply a front and back. You found those in the hotter climates. This one came to me from Texas, from a lady who collected tops and quilts all her life. She was an auctioneer, and told me she ended up with a large room full of stacks and trunks full, after decades of pulling the best ones.

This is machine made, and machine quilted, with teeny stitches, and is in wonderful shape. The quality of the work(wo)manship is superb, and i washed it when it arrived, and again not too long ago. It will continue to take use and washings for a long time, and provides a delightful addition to a decor. The pink looks brighter in shade, and lighter in bright light. Pink fabric used is thicker than most feedsacks, was probably store bought. Backing is high quality muslin in ivory tone.

Not a small piece, was made for a double bed, but back then lots of ladies liked drop down, so their doubles fit a queen of today. I put it carefully away after the shoot, but will get exact measurements for anyone who needs them.
