The A1 poster is part of the poster series "When a Wall meets a Stairway", which is specially designed for the Shanghai Biennial of Asia Graphic Design
was designed. It tells a fictional love story between a wall in Beijing and a free-standing staircase in Berlin Friedrichshain. The writing on it is inspired by the brutalism of the architectural elements and the Bauhaus.
It later served as a template for the font "Hanyi Bojing".
More about the font: "Bojing", which contains a total of over 8000 characters, I wrote myself between 2013–2014 with a European pen and developed it together with Hanyi Fonts Beijing – the oldest Chinese font company. The name of the font connects the cities of Berlin (in Chinese: 柏林 Bolin) and Beijing 北京. The work was awarded the Golden Pin Award Taiwan in 2015.
