This vintage art deco necklace is adorned with open back crystals in an iridescent range of blue and purple, set in a 12 karat gold chain filled on brass. Delicate antique crystal necklaces like this piece are hard to find in perfect condition.

This piece always makes me think of the Evelyn Waugh novel "Brideshead Revisited." After the first World War, many of the grand estates of Britain were torn down because the families could no longer afford to maintain them. Evelyn Waugh chronicled the goings on of society at that moment, and this necklace would surely fit in exactly this type of period piece.

Excellent conditon, with an exquisite patina.
