This listing for 6 antique, early 20th century glass globe paperweight buttons with red roses and adventurine swirls. They are difficult to date precisely; my best guess would be late Victorian to Art Deco circa 1880-1920. Because of the back plate and shank I think these are either Czechoslovakian, or Italian.
They are approx 5mm diameter, and have a brass back plate and shank. They are in fantastic condition with no apparent damage;no chips cracks , crazing.or verdigris on the brass. The translucent globe of glass has been well fused to the glass millefiore base (not paper design) Please note because of the method of manufacture what you see in the photographs are miniscule air bubbles and refections not faults in the buttons. The adventurine (goldstone) flashes are also highly reflective, and the transparent globe part magnifies considerably. The colours on screen are pretty accurate, the little rosey swirl being a bright red.The greens are also pretty accurate.

In the late1800's these buttons were often called charm string buttons and collected by young girls.I think these simple pretty buttons would look gorgeous used as a charm on a bracelet, making a very OOAK piece of jewelry.

They come from a non-smoking ,pet free environment. Shipping quoted is for UK Special Delivery and International Signed For,which includes insurance. At this shipping price you could add an additional small item for free shipping with this.I will not ship these buttons non tracked mail.Do please check my terms and conditions before sale.
