Baba’s Fence
There is a wonderful Russian folk tale about the witch “Baba Yaga.” She lives in a house that has the legs of a chicken and moves about the forest. Instead of a broom, she rides around in a mortar bowl. Baba eats a lot, but is very skinny and she has a fence made of bones with skulls along the top. This story inspired a series of illustrative prints that were very fun to make.

Baba’s Fence is a woodcut relief print made with my original design. It was made with a “reductive” method, cutting away part of the wood for each color. This is also a “bleed” print which means all of the paper is printed, leaving no margin. It will look good be either flush mounted or matted. The image size is 11” x 14” on Arches Rives BFK paper. It is a signed and numbered edition of 12 and #4 offered. It is ready for matting and framing (not included). The image you see has a digitally added watermark which is not on the print.

Be sure to see the others in the series, “Baba’s House” and “Baba’s Flight.”
I will carefully pack and ship this print within 5 working days of receipt of your order.
Thank you!
