Estela is approximtely 23 inches tall and is one of the favorite dolls I've ever made.

I love the movement in her armature, you expect to hear the guitars playing for her. I named her in honor of a wonderful Hispanic woman that I worked with about the same time as I made Estela. She was beautiful inside and out and doing a wonderful job of raising her four children... I'm sure she only had time to dance like this in her dreams.

Her head, shoulder plate, arms and legs were made of Bell's French Antique hand poured porcelain. She has been china painted and has been kiln fired at least four times.

Her body is made of Decorator Moire Satin and she comes on a sturdy wooden base.
Estela's Monique wig is a black synthetic. She also has 12mm Brown Glastic Realistic Eyes.
Estela's legs have molded porcelain shoes. Her gown was constructed in dark green velveteen and black laces.

I crafted Estela in October of 2000 and she is a One of a Kind Doll.

Estela was created from an original sculpt called 'White Buffalo Woman' by Michelle Mastel of Faces Past studios. Michelle also designed her gown pattern. The fabric choices and construction were mine. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
