"Under the Chuppah"... is part of my collection of Abstract Judaica, featuring Jewish concepts and themes based on holidays, life cycle events... including Torah and Talmudic references... Many of these original paintings are abstractly conceived and are rendered in a minimalistic way... allowing the viewer to pull the necessary message from the art and glean a more personal and meaningful experience from the imagery.

Some pieces are obvious in their intent while others require a bit more introspective searching. Often people come away with varying messages and degrees of interpretation. The end result however is to place a piece within your home that can help quiet the outside world and engender a closer connection to the divine.

The Backstory:

Vertical rays of sun streaked light,
penetrate the moment...
Illuminating the blessings that flow,
between the bride and groom.
The Chuppah poles sway lightly in the breeze...
her dress flowing freely,
the veil almost floating...
they gently hold each other.
Stars of David shine, gleaming with color,
as shimmering reminders of our faith.

This oversized original is 30x48 on stretched canvas and framed in Nielsen 117 metal moulding (not shown) to complement the abstraction. Finished size will be approx. 31x49.

All materials used in the framing process are archival products commonly used in conservation framing. Acid free foam core is used as a backing behind the panel. All hanging materials necessary to mount on most wall surfaces are included.

Hanging on an interior wall is recommended and will minimize expansion and contraction of the art. Depending on your climate, outside walls tend to heat up and cool down. Also refrain from hanging in direct sunlight for extended periods as this will ultimately fade the original over time. One to three hours per day of filtered or indirect sunlight is totally acceptable.
