This metal and wood printing block is a pre-photocopier item when the local print shop had to make your paper transaction records. This one is from a small town in NE and it was for the Dawson Oil and Transport Co. At first I thought it was a billing invoice, but ti states high game, best series, along with date and other information (please see last photography). Of course, this is backwards as it was used for printing; the side shows it dates from 1966. Whatever it's original purpose, it's truly unique and would be great for your industrial decor or if you collect printing block items.
It is almost 5 1/4" wide and height is just over 7," block width is almost 1." It is a heavy item, as it's metal on top of high quality wood. I gave the metal a light cleaning. Vintage metal is tricky to clean, you want to remove the dirt but not the patina. If a deeper cleaner is warranted I'll leave it to the buyer.
Thanks for looking, and if you have any questions please ask. I came across a lot of old printer's finds, if you're interested more printing press items, please note below:
