Dear You,

This (original!) acrylic painting titled "Because She Believed" is a whopping 12" X 16"\/30.48 cm X 40.64 cm on a flat canvas panel, which has been coated with a semi-gloss protective finish. It's ready to be framed and hung, if you want to frame and hang it, or if you'd like to leave it unframed and prop it up on a shelf, that'd be dreamy, too!

You'll find shipping info after these two very long paragraphs, which explain the backstory behind the painting.

Every week, in the forums, there is a Creative Challenge. A few weeks ago, the challenge was "to create something that shows what you're shop is all about. A signature piece or show piece if you will. Something that shows what you want your shop to be known for or what your shop stands for. Think outside of the box. Have fun and be creative." You can see the other responses to this challenge here: http:\/\/\/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5264819

This painting is the piece I came up with. It features a cute, big eyed girl (of course) who is a mermaid-ballerina-pirate-fairy-superhero, all of which I tend to use frequently in my paintings. She was going to be a princess, too, but the crown didn't work that well with the pirate bandana, so instead, I made her little sidekick seahorse a prince. I love animals and do use them in my work quite a bit (especially sea creatures), so it was important to have a critter. Next, I had to, had to, had to use every color in the rainbow and add some sparkle (in the wings and her tailfin, her hair, the sand, and the gold), because I love colorful and sparkly. And lastly, but not least, as a writer as well as an artist, words are very important to me, so I had to include a quote (which I think is inspiring!)

Just believe!

The Nitty Gritty Shipping Info

If you'd like this painting, I'd like you to have it, no matter where you are in the world. And I want it to get to you safe and sound and as quickly as possible.

If you're in the United States, it'll ship out USPS Priority (which means an average of 2-3 days travel time). The shipping price includes insurance.

If you're not in the United States, I'd love to be able to ship it to you International Priority, but unforunately, as of May 14th, that now costs approximately an arm and a leg to do so (and I only have two of each, so...). Anyway, the shipping price listed here is for First Class, but if you'd like to upgrade to a quicker shipping method, I'm more than happy to do so, just contact me and we'll work out those details.

Speaking of details, there's LOTS more nitty gritty info in my profile: shop policies, a little bit of this and that about me, you know, that kind of good stuff.
