This is a large painting of a calico koi.
According to Japanese legend if a koi succeeded in climbing the falls at a point called Dragon Gate on the Yellow River it would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement.

More generally, it means persevering through adversity and strength of purpose. It stands for courage and the ability to attain goals.
Others say it means good fortune or luck.

It is painted in acrylic paint on a sturdy canvas board. It measures 11" by 14".
Based on differences in computer monitors, the colors may look a little different when it comes to you.
I will ship it whichever way is the sturdiest and best, generally for these it is a cardboard mailer.
