Weird and wonderful. A working massage roller machine by Vitamaster, 1950s to 1960s. The thick, turned maple rollers create a visual texture that is mesmerizing. Rare and unusual.

The estate daughter said her mom, who was a nurse, would prop her feet or calves on it. ... or lean her back or arms into it, or lay it on it's side and massage her hips and buttocks.

It's belt driven and run by and old Westinghouse motor, with an on/off switch on the front. The maple bars are lovely in their sensuous curves and knobs. Even the paint on the fronts and sides is in excellent condition .. her mom really took good care of this! The edges are rimmed in chromed metal, like old formica tables had.

It's very heavy, over 40 pounds unboxed, and about 24" x 20" x 11-1/2".

I really can't decide it it's cooler as a decorator item or as a functional massager ... functional art!
