This wonderful vintage Blue Label rustic wooden cheese box was made by Pabst, probably during the 1920s, for Pabst-Ett cheese. This was the most popular of the cheeses Pabst made during Prohibition, when they were unable to brew beer. The box is roughly made (with nails and staples) and great for holding items or using as a shelf.

The two long sides have a great graphic look in blue and red, with the words Blue Label, 5 lbs Net, Pabst-Ett Corp., Chicago, Ill. The Pabst logo--a blue P in a red circle--also appears. The two short ends are marked Blue Label pasteurized process cheese American.

Pabst made the cheese from 1923 until 1927, when Kraft (who made the similar Velveeta) sued for copyright infringement. Kraft then took over production of the cheese until the 1940s.

Size: Approximately 12 inches long x 3 3/4 inches wide x 4 inches tall (30.5 x 9.5 x 10 cm)
