If you love being in the mountains, this canteen is for you. Carrying water on the trail, will be in style! The stoneware clay has been wood/salt fired for several days. Then, re-fired in a 3 day anagama firing to get even more wood ash effects. First, I threw and altered the form. Next, hand carved a scene of the southern Rocky Mountains and foothills onto the front of this bottle. The dark colors are spectacular as they cast an ominous, stormy scene. Black, straw yellow and grey cascade over the mountains as if Mother Nature is moving in. The backside of the form has many earth tones of granite, brown and moss. The canteen also has two dents in the sides that make holding easy for your hands. There are two, small lugs, which the leather leash attaches to, for carrying convenience. To top it off, a tight fitting cork will keep your drink safe. You can fill it up with water, wine or anything you like. The canteen is both decorative, rustic, mountain art and it is also fun to use. You can throw it in your saddlebag, backpack, or sling it over the shoulder

Food safe.
