Description

I learned to cast silver into hats before I started casting anything else. It was natural to me because of shaping my own hats, (you know, felt and straw) since I can remember. My "Silver Sombrero" collection includes many styles.

This is the "Rodeo" which was a popular hat with rodeo cowboys in the 1960's and '70's when I was rodeoing and is still worn today. I wear this style (on my head) much of the time, but that's not why it's cool.

Silver is undoubtedly precious but it is also very tactile. Each of my Silver Sombreros invites the touch to fully sense its coolness, smoothly polished brim, and swoop of form. Wearing a Silver Sombrero around your neck is a way to shout out your love of cowboys and the western lifestyle.

The flash of brightly polished silver reflects bold individual style and attention to character in the detail. Check out the hatband! Where else have you seen such an exacting replica of the real thing in precious metal?

Silver Sombreros are made in two sizes. The 1 1/2" wearable size can be fitted in one of three ways: as a pendant on a leather cord or chain; as a scarf slide; or as a bolo.

Yes! Some people can still pull off the look of a great bolo tie! And some occasions beg for this retro style. It's a classic vintage look still popular in the western world. (Bolos cost an additional $25.00.)

The larger 3" silver hats can be collected in the dozen styles I have made so far. They can be displayed on an iron rotating hat rack handmade to scale, or placed as an art accent anywhere in your home or office.

The "Rodeo" hat listed here is the 1 1/2" wearable size. When ordering please specify whether you would like to wear it as a pendant, slide, or bolo. Your rodeo hat will be sent in a protective velveteen bag and will include either a cord OR a chain.

Please give special instructions as to which you would like. If your choice is the chain please specify a 16" or an 18" chain. The cord with lobster clasp is 17 1/2".
