Vintage offset lithograph of mushrooms.

Agaricus silvaticus otherwise known as the Scaly Wood Mushroom, Blushing Wood Mushroom or Pinewood Mushroom, is a common, edible Mushroom, often found in groups in coniferous forests from early summer, or September through to November. The greyish-brown cap is hemispherical when young, but later flattens out up to 10 cm in diameter. It is covered with broad scales. The gills are grey when young, and become much darker with age. The spores are chocolate brown. The stem is brownish, often with a hanging ring and a small bulb at the base. The flesh is white with a mild taste, turning reddish when cut.

The size of the print: 10,6" x 7,5" (27 x 19 cm)
Printed in 1962, Hamburg Germany, for "Mitteleuropaische Pilze" by Claus Caspari.

The print is in good condition, the paper shows its age with creamy patina, perfect for framing.

Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 50 years - some spots can be occured on the margin and the reverse side, but these do not effect the quality of the lithograph itself as it can be seen on the scan.

Please note, that by vintage prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
