I used angora yarn made by
They have a website: www.plymouthyarn.com
The one I used: 49 yards (45 m)/ 10g - 100% angora
It is quite thin and that's why I used it doubled.
A great substitute yarn for the angora could be Rowan Yarn: Kidsilk Haze two strands held together. It is made out of Kid Mohair and Silk.

Another great source for the angora yarn:

Stockinette Stitch (St st): Knit on RS, purl on WS rows

18 sts/24 rows = 4”/4”
