Amazing and rare antique late 1910s, early 1920s forest green silk chiffon dress. Gorgeous long sleeve dress with intricate "rope" soutache detail and beaded embellishment throughout; at the neckline, nape, sleeves, and the ends of the waist tie. The top portion has many snaps, and, as seen in the photos, the bodice portion lifts up and away entirely, only connected at the right shoulder. It snaps down throughout the bodice and the left shoulder, and then ties around the waist to the back with a lovely bow. The dress portion snaps up the center and has three snaps at the bust , and opens to reveal an under dress, or slip.

The slip has a tea stained top portion with dainty scalloped trim and a silk skirt of two different greens, a lighter one at first and a darker green at the bottom. It has hook and eye closures up the center. The slip is connected to the dress at the nape of the neck, but could be possibly separated if desired. The slip itself is just as lovely to behold as the dress (photo 5), and would even make a stunning dress on it's own.

A truly wonderful dress in exceptional condition for it's age. Please see measurements and notes below.

material - silk
era - c. 1918-1922

length - 46 ½" from nape

condition notes:
- this stunning dress is in wonderful but fragile condition. wearable with care.

- a few tiny pin-sized holes scattered throughout (very tiny and not noticeable), small, light water spots throughout the bodice, which are not very visible when evaluating overall. the beginnings of a tiny tear at one shoulder, and a seam separation/tear at the back of one sleeve that will need repair. very light underarm discolor. i have not attempted to clean this dress.

- the top portion of the slip is "tea stained" or "antiqued" looking and quite soiled, but it looks rather nice. the bottom portion of the slip has a long tear in it, but it is pinned closed and not very noticeable as it hides in the folds. the slip could be removed completely if desired but it is entirely wearable as it is (especially considering you don't see it when wearing this dress).

overall an exceptional and rare dress in wonderful, wearable condition. all flaws mentioned are minor or potentially fixable and do not detract from the beauty of this exquisite dress. please convo for additional photos if required. as with all one hundred year old garments, this needs to be handled with much care as it is delicate and fragile. would best be suited for costume or careful wear, not everyday wear. sold AS-IS with no returns or exchanges.
